"Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that." - Bill Shankly

Scouting Report: Green Dragons

This week’s match is against new club Green Dragons. Very little is known about our latest opponents so scouts were dispatched to uncover everything they could ahead of this weekend’s clash:

Green Dragons last competed in the Fall (“frolicked in the autumn mist”). Their newly appointed manager (“Little Jackie Paper”) was inexperienced but brought initial success to the club. This earned the Green Dragons wide support (“Noble kings and princes would bow whene'er they came”) especially away from home.

However an unlucky string of results led to the growing unrest between players and manager (“A dragon lives forever, but not so little boys”) and ultimately the disinterest of their Billionaire owner (“Painted wings and giants's rings make way for other toys”) tightened transfer funds.

A late night showdown resulted with the board calling for the manager’s resignation (“One grey night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more”) and results soon plummeted with morale falling to an all time low (“His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain”).

Rudderless in the battle to avoid the drop (“Without his lifelong friend, Puff could not be brave”) the once mighty Dragons were relegated to the Over 30’s 3rd Rose Division (“So, Puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave”).

FC77 Rangers v Green Dragons
Kickoff: Sunday, 26 April at 12:00 noon.
