FC77 Rangers 1 - 0 Hawks
Forfeit
If a tie is the equivalent of kissing your sister, than winning by forfeit feels like getting to second base. This is an infinitely more tasteful image, however:

As our recent promotion to the O-30 Second Division brought us our first 0-0 tie last week, Match Day Three brought Rangers our very first win by forfeit.
Congratulations, Yellow and Black! I'm thinking we can split the single goal twenty ways so everyone will be credited with 0.05 goals this season.
Mostly I'm p****d-off because I had a killer blog post idea with a total Buck Rogers theme, an awesome picture of Erin Grey in white spandex, and an oblique reference to Dr. Theopolis...but alas, it can not be. I have been cruelly denied my Rogers-onian match summary, so Buck off.
Sure, we had a fine scrimmage and everybody was all nice and friendly and the all-Rangers side won 5-3 against the partially-Rangers side. Radigan scored two of the finest goals of his career midway through both halves...Calkins played "super-sub" and finished off the first half with a tidy slot past a really good Hawk keeper...McConnachie cheekily chipped the second half goalie for the third and Switzer killed the game off with a cross goal strike from the near post of the Powell Street End. Brian Gaffney gamely scored for the gray side and there was also one of the most truly beautiful own goals ever, but we won't go into a lot of detail.
It was a fine header, however. I will say that.
So 'Gers players scored seven of the eight goals, which probably would have been the same result had we played a real match. Thanks to Calkins and DeBar for minding the sticks in Silverman's absence and props to all the fans who came out and enjoyed the deliciously warm spring afternoon.
